I added some new fics to the rec list, so if you're looking for a fun read or two, I've got some suggestions.

Mar. 1st, 2012 12:01 pmI am posting this list, in large part, for my own enjoyment, as a way to consolidate the numerous favs lists I have on various sites and basically get all my favs into one place. I love reading, and I prefer plotty stories I can really sink my teeth into, so most of the recs on this list are 20,000 words or more. Those that are not will be marked as short stories. Links go to all sorts of archives, LJs, web pages, and other internet places of unknown descriptors. I have made no especial effort to discover if any of these stories exist on any given website for easy favoriting, nor will I. Every story on the list is complete. Even if it's updated regularly, I will not add anything to the list until it is complete.
I have a heading called "demi-crossovers." This refers to stories that cross two or more canons that are officially part of the same universe. Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis, for example. Or Buffy, Angel, and Fray. Not quite a one-verse story, but not precisely a full-on crossover, either.

Partially due to some of LJ's recent changes and partially due to me just liking the way that Dreamwidth runs better, I am considering moving my fic journal over to DW. I'll probably leave this one up, but it may be that all future posts are on that site and not this one. Or maybe I'll just leave links? I don't know yet.
So I just now finished the first draft of "Into the Fire," the sequel to "Out Of The Frying Pan." This fic got huge. It's absolutely enormous, and the idea of editing this monster is a bit terrifying at the moment.
Still, the story is completely out, so the hard part is out of the way. This will be the first time I've finished any truly long fic. Go me! :)

Jun. 1st, 1984 08:10 pmYes, the inevitable master list. Though I feel very original and clever for burying mine in the æons of history, rather than dating it to some point in the far-flung future.
Fandoms are ordered alphabetically. AUs and crossovers are listed at the bottom, ordered mostly alphabetically. Within their categories, fics are listed...drum roll, please...alphabetically. Though, in this case, they are alphabetically by the first major word. "A Meeting In A Foreign Land" is counted as an M entry, frex. And stories that go together (stories with sequels and such-like) will be listed in series order, after the first story, with only the first story coming alphabetically. Dates of original publication are listed beside the title, for the curious (probably not many of you, I admit :).

Ray Palmer was good at math. Even when math was people. People were just…really complicated math. But that was okay, because he was good at math, so complicated equations didn't scare him. He was still working on figuring out the Unified Theory of Mick Rory, though.
Rogues, Inc. - March 28, 2018
Being hauled out of the Speed Force and thrust back into the world was the best. Reuniting with his sister was even better (although it did involve a slight amount of being punched in the face). Captain Cold was ready to take on the world again. …Except for the tiny problem where he didn't want to be a bad guy anymore, but he didn't know how to be anything else.
Being Bart - February 10, 2013
Bart Allen muses on what he is and what he isn’t. And does some schoolwork, but that doesn’t come into the story much.

Hearing Bart Allen toss off that he didn’t really have a team was doing things to Bruce’s blood pressure. Maybe it was that it was so casual. Somehow, it felt wrong for a boy that enthusiastic to be that accustomed to being alone. Companion piece to "Being Bart."
Ever To Conquer, Never To Yield - March 1, 2019
He was a superhero, and he was looking forward to a college football game. Bart Allen had officially lost every claim to coolness he had ever had. Granted, a lot of other people seemed to be looking forward to it, too. Including, unfortunately, some maybe-speedsters who were definitely-criminals.
World's Finest - September 16. 2009
Batman and Superman are an unstoppable team. Superboy and Robin are best friends. So Batgirl and Supergirl teaming up would just make sense. …Wouldn’t it?
Moar Notes: This universe is largely an excuse for me to play with my conception of the Batman universe. My views of these characters were initially shaped by the Timm/Dini-verse, and later by various factoids gleaned from fandom, and only minimally from the comics themselves. With the result, for example, that Cassandra-in-my-head comes almost entirely from the comics while Tim Drake comes almost entirely from Batman: The Animated Series.
Angie Harmon is my favorite of the Barbara Gordon actors, and so it is her I imagine as Barbara/Batgirl/Oracle in this series. I know she came pretty late in the game, but she's got such a lovely alto voice.
I am tossing Mystery of the Batwoman (can you blame me?). Mask of the Phantasm is counted, however. I am not going to be aiming for continuity with Return of the Joker, though I am actually going to aim for general continuity with Batman Beyond.
The Tim Drake in this series takes his origin story from “Sins of the Father” and not the comics. However, he has a lot of comic!Tim's traits, such as his skill with computers and his capacity as a detective.
If you can find it, there is a theme for my naming of the Gotham sports teams.
Eventually when this universe got underway, I started a wiki to keep all my notes in. I use wikidpad to build it, and I highly recommend it as a note-taking program. It's easy to use, change, and cross-reference.
BTW, There is absolutely no Damian Wayne. None. At all. Conner, Bart, Kara, Cassandra Cain, and Cassie Sandsmark, however, do exist in this continuity and may come up from time-to-time. I haven't figured out how to get Jason into this universe yet, so I'm leaving him open-ended.
