Master List
Jun. 1st, 1984 08:10 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Yes, the inevitable master list. Though I feel very original and clever for burying mine in the æons of history, rather than dating it to some point in the far-flung future.
Fandoms are ordered alphabetically. AUs and crossovers are listed at the bottom, ordered mostly alphabetically. Within their categories, fics are listed...drum roll, please...alphabetically. Though, in this case, they are alphabetically by the first major word. "A Meeting In A Foreign Land" is counted as an M entry, frex. And stories that go together (stories with sequels and such-like) will be listed in series order, after the first story, with only the first story coming alphabetically. Dates of original publication are listed beside the title, for the curious (probably not many of you, I admit :).
Jump To: Andromeda | Doctor Who | Harry Potter | Narnia | Percy Jackson And The Olympians | Sherlock | Stargate: SG-1 and Atlantis | Star Trek | Supernatural | Zombies, Run! | Crossovers And Alternate Universes | Original Stories

Black Sails, White Sails - May 31, 2019
First, suppose that the famous ship sailed by the hero Theseus in a great battle has been kept in a harbour as a museum piece. As the years go by some of the wooden parts begin to rot and are replaced by new ones. After a century or so, all of the parts have been replaced. Is the "restored" ship still the same object as the original?
Second, suppose that each of the removed pieces were stored in a warehouse, and after the century, technology develops to cure their rotting and enable them to be put back together to make a ship. Is this "re-constructed" ship the original ship? And if so, is the restored ship in the harbour still the original ship too?
Or...how do transporters really work?
